ABOUT  US:
STATEMENT  OF  FAITH

SCRIPTURE – We believe all Scripture is given by inspiration of God (2 Tim. 3:16), which applies to both Old and New Testaments, in the sense that the Holy Spirit “breathed out” the very words of the sacred writings to holy men of God, and His inspiration extends equally and fully to all parts of these writings (historical, poetical, doctrinal, prophetical, and to the smallest word and inflection of a word), provided such is found in the original manuscripts. We believe that the Scriptures are the supreme and final authority in all matters of life, faith, and practice (Acts 1:16; 2 Timothy 3:17; 2 Peter 1:19-21).

GOD THE TRINITY – We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These Persons are co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections, are worthy of the same worship and obedience (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19-20, John 1:1-4; 17:11, Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 8:5-6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7).

GOD THE FATHER – We believe God the Father is perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from Hell all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Psalm 147:5; 65:2, Matthew 19:26, John 3:16; 14:6; 1 John 3:3)

GOD THE SON – We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:34-35, John 1:1, 14)

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death and the shedding of His blood on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice, and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. (Luke 24:36-48, Acts 10:40-41, Romans 3:24-25, Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 2:24)

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and is now at the right hand of God, where as our Great High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate. He is the Head of His Body, the Church. (Romans 8:1-2, 34; Hebrews 7:25, 9:14, 24; 1 John 2:1-2)

We believe in the literal, bodily, personal, pre-millennial, and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe this personal, visible, and glorious return of Christ to the earth with believers will occur after the Great Tribulation but before the wrath of God is dispensed and will be to spare His people God’s wrath, to judge the living nations, and to set up His millennial kingdom on earth. (John 14:3, Matthew 24:29-31; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:7-9, Revelation 3:10; 14:14-20; 19:11-16)

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT – We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with the Father and Son and of the same nature. We believe that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; that He bears witness to the truth; that He is the agent of the new birth; that He baptizes all true believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sanctifying all of them, sealing and thus securing them unto the day of redemption. We believe that He endures, guides, teaches, and helps believers, and that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the Spirit. (John 16:7-13, Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, Ephesians 1:13-14, 5:8; 1 John 2:20, 27)

We believe God the Holy Spirit is sovereign in the bestowment of all spiritual gifts. He has given talents, abilities, skills, and grace to each believer for the building up of the church. He has given gifted men to the church—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—for the edifying of the saints for the work of the ministry. Speaking in tongues and public miraculous healing are authenticating signs, and while not usually needed today because the transition from the old covenant to the new covenant and the Scriptures are complete and verified, it remains God’s prerogative to use these if He chooses. (1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 13:8-10; 14:21-22, Ephesians 4:7-13)

CREATION – We believe the Godhead created the heavens (universe) and the earth, including all life, each after its own species, by direct act and not by a process of evolution. We believe that the Genesis account of creation is to be taken literally. In six literal days, God spoke into being the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. (Genesis 1 & 2, Exodus 20:11, Psalm 33:6, 9, Mark 10:6, John 1:3, Colossians 1:16, Hebrews 11:3)

THE FALL OF MAN – We believe man, in the person of the first Adam, was created in the image of God in innocence under the law of his maker, and that by reason of his voluntary sin he fell from his innocent state. As a result, the whole race was plunged into condemnation and death so that now all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and all who reach the age of moral understanding become willful sinners in thought, word, and deed and are without excuse before God. (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3, Psalm 51:5, Romans 3:10-23; 5:10-19, Ephesians 2:1-3)

SALVATION – We believe salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is neither merited nor secured in part or in whole by any virtue or work of man, and the remission of our sins was accomplished by the work of Christ through the shedding of His blood on the cross. We believe that all true believers have salvation as a present possession, sonship in the family of God, deliverance from all condemnation, and every spiritual resource for life and godliness. (John 1:12; 3:16; 5:24; 6:28-29; 10:28; 14:6; Acts 4:12, Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Hebrews 9:14-15)

BAPTISM – We believe Scriptural baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, setting forth in symbol his union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Every believer should be baptized because of the example and command of our Lord, and that while there is no saving power in water baptism, it is an act of obedience by those who are already saved to picture their death, burial, and resurrection to walk in newness of life with Jesus Christ and the hope of bodily resurrection. We believe Christian baptism should be administered in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit upon profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior thereby symbolizing the work of each individual member of the Trinity in the salvation process. (Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:12; 36:39; 18:8; Romans 6:3-5, Colossians 2:12)

THE TWO NATURES AND SEPARATION – We believe every saved person possesses two natures: the first natural and sinful, lasting for the duration of his earthly life, and the second is spiritual and righteous with provision made for victory of the new nature over the old nature through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:12-13, Galatians 5:16-25, Ephesians 4:22-24; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 Peter 1:14-26; 1 John 3:5-9)

ETERNAL ASSURANCE – We believe that all who are born by the Spirit of God are also kept by the power of God. (John 5:24; 6:37-40; 10:27-30, Romans 8:30; 35-39; 1 Peter 1:3-5)

We believe that it is the privilege of the believer to rejoice in the assurance of his salvation through the testimony of the Word of God which clearly, however, forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion for careless living. (Romans 13:13-14, Galatians 5:13, Titus 2:11-15)

ETERNAL STATE OF MAN – We believe that the soul of the redeemed are at death absent from the body and present with the Lord. There, in conscious bliss, they await the first resurrection when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord. (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 5:8, Philippians 1:23; 3:32; 1 Thessalonians 1:7-9, Revelation 20:14)

SATAN – We believe that Satan, a fallen angel, is a distinct and real personality. We believe that he was created perfect by God, that he was given power but has fallen through pride and that he has become the father of sin, the god of this age, and the adversary of Christ and all believers. We believe his destiny will be eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire together with the rebellious angels and all men who have rebelled against God and rejected His free gift of salvation. (Ezekiel 28:1-19, Job 1:6-12, Isaiah 14:12-17, Matthew 4:1-11; 2 Corinthians 4:4; 1 Peter 5:8; 1 Timothy 3:7, James 4:7, Revelation 20:10)
